Official Contest Rules
Cannabis Retail Training Course Giveaway — NO PURCHASE NECESSARY
These Official Contest Rules (“Rules”) govern the Cannabis Retail Training Course Giveaway (the “Contest”) sponsored by CannSell, powered by We Know Training (the “Sponsor”). By entering the Contest, each entrant agrees to be legally bound by these Rules.
1. Contest Period
The Contest begins on Saturday August 22, 2026 at 11:00 AM and closes on Monday August 24, 2026 at 11:59 PM (the “Contest Period”). All entries must be received before the Contest closes. Entries received after the Contest Period will not be eligible.
2. Eligibility
The Contest is open to individuals who:
- are 19 years of age or older at the time of entry;
- are legal residents of Ontario / Canada;
- are legally permitted to participate in the Contest; and
- satisfy all other requirements contained in these Rules.
Employees, officers, directors, representatives, agents, and contractors of the Sponsor, the prize provider, and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotional agencies, as well as members of their immediate families and persons with whom they are domiciled, are not eligible to enter. The Sponsor reserves the right to verify the eligibility of any entrant.
3. How to Enter
To enter, an eligible entrant must complete and submit the official Contest entry form available at https://cannsell.ca/kayafest2026 during the Contest Period. The entrant must provide the information requested on the entry form, including:
- First and last name;
- Email address;
- Telephone number;
- Date of birth;
- City and province/territory of residence;
- Confirmation that the entrant has read and agrees to these Rules.
There is no purchase necessary to enter. Limit of one (1) entry per person during the Contest Period, regardless of the method of entry. Entries generated by automated, robotic, programmed, script, macro, or other unauthorized means are prohibited and may be disqualified.
4. Prize
There are several prizes available to be won. Each prize consists of one (1) CannSell Standard training course provided by CannSell, having an approximate retail value of $69.99 CAD. The prize includes:
- Online course access;
- Course exam and free second exam attempt;
- Course certificate (upon successful course completion).
The prize does not include any items or expenses not specifically listed above, including transportation, accommodation, meals, lost wages, employment-related expenses, or other incidental costs. The prize must be accepted as awarded and is not transferable or exchangeable for cash, except at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. If the advertised prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond the Sponsor’s reasonable control, the Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater approximate retail value, subject to applicable law.
5. Prize Conditions
The winner is responsible for meeting all requirements imposed by the training provider and any applicable law or regulatory authority. Winning or completing the training course does not guarantee employment in the cannabis retail industry. Where the prize is described as providing certification, the certification is subject to the requirements and policies of the applicable training provider and/or regulatory authority. The Sponsor makes no representation or guarantee regarding employment, licensing, certification, wages, or future employment opportunities resulting from the prize. The winner must complete the training course within 6 months of being notified of the prize, unless otherwise agreed with the training provider.
6. Winner Selection
On or about September 7, 2026, one or more potential winners will be selected by random draw from all eligible entries received during the Contest Period. The odds of being selected depend on the total number of eligible entries received. The number of prizes will be determined by the number of eligible entries received. The Sponsor will make reasonable efforts to contact the selected entrant using the telephone number or email address provided with the entry.
7. Skill-Testing Question
Before being declared the winner, the selected entrant must correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, a mathematical skill-testing question administered by the Sponsor by telephone, email, or other permitted means. The question will require a mathematical calculation involving at least one arithmetic operation.
If the selected entrant:
- cannot be contacted within five (5) business days of the first attempted notification;
- does not respond within the required period;
- fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question;
- does not meet the eligibility requirements; or
- cannot otherwise accept the prize as awarded,
the entrant will be disqualified and another eligible entrant may be selected.
8. Winner Confirmation
Before being declared the winner, the selected entrant may be required to confirm their full name, age, and province/territory of residence; provide proof of eligibility and identity acceptable to the Sponsor; correctly answer the skill-testing question; and sign and return any required declaration and release within the timeframe specified by the Sponsor. Once all requirements have been satisfied, the selected entrant will be declared the official winner.
9. Chances of Winning
The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period. For example, if 1,000 eligible entries are received, the approximate odds of being selected in the random draw are 1 in 1,000. No representation is made regarding the actual number of entries that will be received.
10. Entry Requirements
All entries must be complete and submitted before the Contest closing time. The Sponsor is not responsible for entries that are lost, late, incomplete, illegible, misdirected, corrupted, or otherwise not received for any reason. The Sponsor is not responsible for technical failures, website interruptions, internet connectivity problems, computer or device malfunctions, or other technical difficulties that may prevent an entrant from submitting an entry. The Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who violates these Rules or attempts to interfere with the proper operation of the Contest.
11. Verification and Disqualification
The Sponsor reserves the right, in its reasonable discretion, to verify any entrant’s eligibility and the validity of any entry. The Sponsor may disqualify an entrant if the Sponsor determines that the entrant:
- has violated these Rules;
- has provided false, inaccurate, or misleading information;
- has attempted to enter more than the permitted number of times;
- has used automated or unauthorized means to enter;
- has attempted to manipulate or interfere with the Contest; or
- has otherwise acted in a manner that undermines the fair administration of the Contest.
12. Release and Limitation of Liability
By entering the Contest, each entrant releases and holds harmless the Sponsor, the prize provider, and their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, affiliates, successors, and assigns from any liability arising from or relating to participation in the Contest or acceptance, use, or misuse of the prize, except where prohibited by law. The Sponsor is not responsible for any loss, injury, damage, expense, or claim arising from participation in the Contest or use of the prize, except to the extent caused by the negligence or other liability of the Sponsor that cannot legally be excluded.
13. Personal Information
Personal information collected through the Contest will be used for the purposes of administering the Contest, verifying eligibility, contacting the potential winner, awarding the prize, and fulfilling any other purposes disclosed in the Sponsor’s privacy policy. Personal information will be handled in accordance with the CannSell Privacy Policy. Marketing communications will only be sent where the entrant has provided the appropriate consent or where otherwise permitted by applicable law. An entrant’s decision not to consent to marketing communications will not affect their eligibility to enter the Contest.
14. Publicity
Subject to applicable law and any consent required by law, the winner may be asked to participate in reasonable publicity relating to the Contest. Where required, the Sponsor will obtain the winner’s consent before using the winner’s name, photograph, likeness, voice, or statements for promotional purposes.
15. Changes to the Contest
The Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Contest if fraud, technical problems, administrative errors, or any other circumstance beyond the Sponsor’s reasonable control affects the integrity or proper operation of the Contest. Any modification, suspension, or termination will be made in accordance with applicable law.
16. Interpretation of the Rules
All decisions of the Sponsor concerning the administration and interpretation of the Contest and these Rules are final and binding, subject to applicable law. If there is any discrepancy between these Rules and any Contest advertising or promotional material, these Rules will govern.
17. Governing Law
These Rules are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada. Any dispute concerning the Contest or these Rules will be subject to the applicable courts of Ontario.
