Once upon a regulatory change, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) created mandatory certification requirements for both cannabis and alcohol retail employees. Cannabis Sommelier | Educator | Consultant CannaLily Consulting
Tamara brings over 6 years of cannabis education and consulting experience to CannSell, along with a rare Cannabis Sommelier Certification. Her transition from 14 years in Palliative Care Project Management to cannabis education was driven by a passion to combat stigmas and stereotypes and ensure trustworthy, reliable cannabis information is widely and easily accessible.
As a certified cannabis educator and industry thought leader, Tamara is committed to helping budtenders and retail professionals build the confidence and knowledge they need to excel. Her expertise spans product curation, quality assessment, budtender training, and cannabis science—bringing real-world insights that go far beyond compliance.

Cannabis Training by CannSell
- CannSell Standard: AGCO-approved, required certification to work in cannabis retail. The course covers cannabis fundamentals, legal compliance, and responsible sales practices.

Alcohol Training by CannServe
- CannServe Standard: AGCO-approved, required certification to sell alcohol in grocery, convenience, and retail stores. Covers liquor regulatory framework, responsible sales, and compliance obligations.
By completing our AGCO-approved coursework, you meet the educational requirements to be eligible for employment in retail cannabis or retail alcohol sales across Ontario.
