Frequently Asked Questions

The minimum age to take this course is 19 years of age. In Ontario that is the legal age.
The retail manager’s license must be obtained from the AGCO, in addition to that the required course for work in a retail location in Ontario the CannSell Standard course is required. Some retailers might want their employees to complete the Expert course however this is not a requirement for the license itself.
This bundle is available for purchase. The mandatory course for employment is the CannSell Standard course. No additional discounts or refunds are applicable.
Our courses are all online and self-paced, once you have been provided with access to the course it is no longer refundable.
No, everything is done online through the CannSell.ca platform.

We suggest reaching out to your financial institution to gain more information and try the following troubleshooting steps. 

 

  1. Ensure the payment type you have selected is accepted and the information entered is correct. 
  2. Ensure you are not using the autofill feature to enter your details. Manually enter details in the required fields.
  3. Confirm the information entered is correct and matches the billing information with your financial institution.
  4. Reach out to your financial institution to confirm they are not blocking your purchase. Some financial institutions block transactions when affiliated to cannabis. You will have to reach out to them for more information.
  5. If all the above steps have been taken and you still cannot process your payment, send us an email at support@cannsell.ca. Please include the following details.
  • Full name of the cardholder
  • The email address used for the purchase
  • Amount of the purchase
  • All transaction ID numbers
  • Screen recording of the errors you are experiencing

When logging back into your course, it will ask if you want to resume where you left off. Select yes if you would like to start where you left off.

 

The course automatically tracks your progress. For progress tracking to work, you’re required to have an uninterrupted internet connection. If your internet connection is interrupted at any point, it will stop tracking your progress. We cannot move users forward within the course; you will have to work through the material again.

If you have failed the exam twice (with a score of less than 80%), you will need to pay for a retake exam at a cost of $49.99. There will be instructions available to re-purchase in the CannSell package once you’ve failed the exam twice. Once the retake exam is paid, CannSell Retake will appear as a separate course on the Dashboard. You won’t need to complete the curriculum again, but you will be required to retake the exam. If you fail the CannSell Retake exam two more times, you will be required to repurchase the course.
The CannSell Standard Course certificate is required for ALL employees in the cannabis retail space in Ontario. From owners, managers, budtenders, and security.
Each employee is responsible for having their certificate before their first shift at work.
The Standard course is required for employment in Ontario in the retail cannabis space. The Expert course alone does NOT get you a certificate for employment. You must complete Standard to be compliant.

The Standard is required for employment and takes roughly 5 hours to complete.


The Expert course is not required and takes roughly 20 hours to complete. This course goes much deeper into a variety of topics.

All our courses are self-paced, which means there is no time limitation. You can take as much time as you require to complete the course. You can leave the course to take a break and log back in to start where you left off at any time.
Certificates do NOT expire but might require an upgrade in the future to maintain it due to regulation changes and updates.

To find your courses click the Dashboard tab at the top right. You will then see all of the courses that you are currently enrolled in.

Courses are offered in both English and French. You can toggle through languages by clicking the Down button beside your profile and selecting (EN) for English and (FR) for French.

Upon successfully completing the CannSell Standard Course, your certificate will be located under the course itself, where you accessed the modules and exam.

If the site or a page isn’t loading, hit the Refresh button in your browser. If that doesn’t do the trick, try some of these suggestions:

  • Close all other tabs in your browser
  • Use a different browser (our site works best in Google Chrome)
  • Clear your cache
  • Check that you are connected to the internet

It’s best to use a laptop or desktop to avoid course loading errors. If all of these options fail, please email support@cannsell.ca.

When this happens, chances are you are eager to get this done, but some slides are interactive and require a little bit more attention.
First, take your cursor and hover over the slide any pictures or videos that appear. After the slide is complete, you may have to click on those to access additional content. Once you have watched the videos or looked at the pictures, you will be able to advance.

You can access content on your mobile phone or tablet. However, our system works best with a laptop or desktop.
Your password should be at least eight characters, mixed with capital letters and lower case letters and at least one number. Make it as secure as possible…just try your best to remember it!
